There’s something incredibly special about celebrating your country win, yes we won the Rugby World Cup! We decided to celebrate by watching the first half of the game at the Johannesburg flower show, the second half in Sandton, celebrating outside the convention centre, just outside the Hotel we stayed in, the vibe was electric!
Pictured above the view from the 18th floor!
The incredible art around the hotel lives up to the luxury 5 star rating, the chandeliers in our suite, the sculptures and mirrors on every floor is a must see.
When seated at dinner, look up and that’s your view!
Dinner was a delightful experience as we had Chef Shimmy talked us through the new menu, recommending the dishes as per our dietary requirements, the restaurant at the hotel is called Atruim.
Starters – Avocado, crisp fried halloumi, Rosa tomatoes, topped with a honey mustard dressing.
Palate cleanser – Lemon sorbet, freshly grated lemon zest, beautiful plated!
Mains – Fresh Potato Gnocchi, sage beurre noisette, caramelized butternut, balsamic roasted veggies, topped with a Napoletana sauce.
Dessert had to be shared and scaled down, as the generous portions where a mouthful, we couldn’t possibly order a full portion! definitely value for money. Chef Shimmy recommended the Cheese cake, as well as try something chocolatey, for a good balance, great choice! The cheese cake was flavorful and hit the sweet and salty combination perfectly!
Sunsets at the pool area, sandton surrounds.
